“United in prayer, rooted in tradition, growing in love.”

Established in late 2012 by a group of families seeking a spiritual home in Hamilton, St. John’s Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church was officially authorized in 2013 and elevated to full parish status in August 2014 by His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos. This milestone also fulfilled the vision and heartfelt desire of the former Diocesan Metropolitan, the late lamented H.G. Dr. Thomas Mar Makarios.

Named after St. John the Evangelist, the community has grown from humble beginnings into a vibrant parish of over 40 families based in Ancaster, serving the faithful across the Hamilton, Brantford, and Cambridge regions. Today, the church offers weekly Holy Qurbana, Special Services and actively nurtures spiritual growth through its organizations, ministries, and dedicated support for students studying at local universities.
